Herbal Bath Soak
If you don't enjoy drinking tea then the best alternative would be an herbal bath. Herbal baths are extremely healing and relaxing. Many established healers administer herbal remedies through baths, depending on the herbs used, the temperature of the water, and the length of time spent in it, a bath can be: healing, relaxing, sleep inducing, stimulating, or decongesting.
The way it works is through our skin. Our skin is able to easily absorb herbal chemicals, nutrients and volatile oils once exposed to pore opening hot water, which then enters our system and does its prescribed or sought after job. For example: cool, lukewarm water is excellent for lowering high fevers, while hot water soothes and relaxes the nervous system. To make an herbal bath you can either add 1-2 handfuls of herb to boiling water and let it steep for 15 mins. and then add it to a drawn bath, or create an herb bundle in either some wrapped cheese cloth or nylon stocking, and add that to the bath instead. Soak in the water for 20-30 mins in order to recieve the full healing power of the herb. Some great herbs to add to baths are: Chammomile Lavendar Burdock Root Oat Tops |
